BEER OF THE MONTH
FEBRUARY

SAM ADAMS Seasonal Noble Pils
12oz bottle served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass
Bright clear, light yellow gold in the glass with a fine bubbled pure white
head that laces a bit on the way down. The smell is clean aromatic and herbal
hoppines. There is a light balance of pilsner malt but for the most part
the smell is just very fresh hops. The taste is a base of pale malts with
nothing really assertive on the malt side as the real player is the hops.
A full
range of flavor from grasses to herbs to a bit of lemon and pepper is some
of what you get. The mouthfeel too is good lively and light with a healthy
level of carbonation that keeps things quite tingly the finish is clean and
pretty dry with a lingering bitterness from the hops. -Beer Advocate "Frank2788"
DECEMBER

Every year since 1975 the brewers at Anchor have brewed a distinctive and unique Christmas Ale, which is available from early November to mid-January. The Ale's recipe is different every year—as is the tree on the label—but the intent with which we offer it remains the same: joy and celebration of the newness of life. Since ancient times, trees have symbolized the winter solstice when the earth, with its seasons, appears born anew.
NOVEMBER

Hacker-Pschorr October Fest
As we can not find any write ups about this beer in english (all German) I am going to steal some write ups from Beeradvicate.com. From personal experience, this is a great beer. I even saw this one featured at the Epcot Beer and Wine festival this past Sept.
"Poured at 45 degrees into a regular old pint glass. Copper in color with some mild amber tones. Bubbles rise from the bottom endlessly. Neon white head rests on top, and there's a perfect amount of it. The head settles fairly quickly into a small ring that holds well. Very minimal lacing, traces stick here and there.
Mild aroma but fairly complex for the style. Has a predominantly nutty nose with some dark bread too. Faint earthy/flowery hop presence as well.
Predominant flavor of toast. Mild caramel, but not in a sweet way. I taste some indescript nuttiness too, maybe closest to something like hazelnut. Some earthyness comes late.
Feels like a perfect consistency, carbonation is definitely there throughout.
Slightly warming at the end but melds well with the rest of the experience. Perfect for fall weahter, just puts me in that doom and gloom mindset. This is my imported Oktoberfest of choice.

OCTOBER
Post Roast Pumpkin Ale by Brooklyn Brewery.
I know we could have gone with an Octoberfest beer….but really,
I think Pumpkin better suits the Halloween time holiday!
Blended with barley malt, pumpkins became a commonly used beer ingredient. Post Road Pumpkin Ale brings back this tasty tradition. Hundreds of pounds of pumpkins are blended into the mash of each batch, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish.
Rated a solid B+ on Beer advocate, this beer has a great pumpkin smell from the opening of the bottle. A nice balance of cinnamon and nutmeg with the pumpkin undertone.
